Hey fedi friends, what are the differences in USES and config options listed at #freshports for a ? I am familiar with USE in , which seem to be the config options here? For it is very common to use different USE settings for a packages, but for I read from porter's handbook there are not many USE items and they looked different from the term in . I am still trying to wrap my head around what is happening that whenever I try to build a port, like or in tiny flavors, I constantly noticed and all other seemingly unrelated stuff get pulled in.

        rust-y software [SENSITIVE CONTENT]

Some days ago wanted to try "whenever" package (the Next Best Thing (my moniker) for handling time zones with daylight saving time that are not properly handled by v3.10+ "datetime", "zoneinfo" modules & external "pendulum" package per <add the url>).

It wanted v1.87. , at the time, had _only_ v1.86 installed; gave up on "whenever" as its installation failed.

After that v1.87 package replaced the earlier version. Does not matter no more. So.

APx is finally available on crates.io / docs.rs

          https://docs.rs/apx_sdk/latest/apx_sdk/

This is an ActivityPub library used internally in Mitra and in other my projects.

Unlike some other ActivityPub libraries, this library is low-level. It doesn't restrict what databases or frameworks could be used, and doesn't care about object types or properties. There are only URIs, keys, signatures, JSON documents and HTTP requests.
It also contains primitives for building nomadic applications (FEP-ef61).

The license is AGPL-3, but I might consider changing it to a more permissive one.

Ooh, Vidar K getting a lot of push back on the proposal of "rust-bin" for (precompiled "" sans source files, doc, etc)! Shit! I am personally in favor of it, FWTW.

It is not as if proposal if to replace the existing "rust" package, port😒 Come on!
